Backstory

He grew up with impoverished beginnings in Los Angeles with his extended family. He was satisfied with his life, but always wanted something more, to find the truths of the world around him. During WWII, he was forced into an internment camp. Scarred by his experiences, he moved to New York City and struggled to complete his academics. With little opportunities afterwards, he moved to Scarsadale, where he found a job as a journalist at a small Asian-American newspaper press.

Trivia

• He and James first met during a stint in an underground gay club. Their relationship did not take off until after Raymond interviewed him for an exclusive article in the Morning Express. The article in question was about James' experience working alongside an all-Japanese American unit during his service. Needless to say, the interview started on an awkward note once they recognized each other.
